Pirates Invade Conquer Online, the Free MMORPG for the iPad, PC, Mac and Facebook

Conquer Online was originally launched in 2003 and was one of the very first large-scale free to play MMORPGs. Nowadays the game is available in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide.

In addition, CO made headlines as one the first MMORPG to be available in four different platforms – the iPad,  PC, Mac and Facebook.

The latest news about this game is that earlier this January Conquer Online launched its newest expansion “Invasion of Pirates.” This massive content update introduced a new player class, the Pirate, which is sure to be popular with the players.

Conquer Online features:

  • Many fun classes – The original six unique classes are the Monk, Ninja, Archer, Taoist, Trojan and Warrior. With the new Pirate class, there are now seven classes available.
  • Simple gameplay and fast leveling – Conquer Online has simple and easy to understand gameplay and combat is fast-paced. Leveling is not a huge pain because the rate of exp gain is also quite fast.
  • Old school open PvP – CO has an open PVP environment, meaning anyone can be killed at anytime by another player. It’s controversial but also it’s the core feature of the game. The PK looks simple but actually it requires a skill and many players are addicted to it.
  • Extra features – There is more to this MMORPG than just combat, there’s also a mount system, horse racing, housing, quests, events, etc.

Nowadays the graphics may be a bit dated since the game is several years old but gameplay is still as fun and exciting as ever. This is a good free MMORPG for people who are fond of open PvP and fast leveling.

The new cross platform release of the iPad, Facebook and Mac versions have been very popular. It’s probably too early to call this the best free MMORPG 2012 for the iPad but one good indication of its future popularity is that according to the press release from Conquer Online, the iPad version is completely free to play, meaning it is free to download on the iPad with no subscription fee and it also has no in-game cash shop.
