More news about free to play MMO games in 2012 – more than 100,000 players have registered for the ongoing open beta release of DragonSoul. This new release is a f2p 3D MMORPG with a focus on PvP battles. It is set in a fantasy world inspired by Asian mythology. Players can choose one of the four character classes DragonSoul offers:
- Warriors, experienced in the art of close combat
- Mages commanding the powers of fire and ice
- Assassins dealing devastating damage from the safety of the shadows
- Hunters who are masters of ranged attacks
At the beginning of the game, players can choose one out of eight kingdoms. In epic PvP battles, their competence and ability to cooperate with other players of their kingdom decide on any future events in DragonSoul. Finally, the eight enemy kingdoms will meet in the central lowlands and settle the matter of reign over the DragonSoul world in a never ending battle.
Dynamic Political System
One of the game’s additional selling points is its complex social system in which any player can become king of his nation or become the king’s trusted chancellor or general and control the kingdom’s economical and military successes.
With regular elections players of all kingdoms can cast their votes for their favored candidate and thus have crucial influence in the world of DragonSoul.
Classic MMO Gameplay
Dragonsoul is set in a lovingly created and seamlessly merging game world with six different climes with changing weather effects. The game is not all about PvP because the classic MMO gameplay elements are all there including hundreds of quests, six different crafts, different activities such as the cultivation of crops and mining of resources plus an extensive pet and mount breeding system. This shows that even though DragonSoul is still in open beta, the new free to play MMORPG already offers a lot of content.
